Job Description
Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing major portions of DataProtector - Iron Mountain's end-user backup solution. He should have ability to write clean elegant code, and a strong sense of ownership, including conducting design reviews, code reviews and potentially leading a small team of engineers.
Specific duties include:
Feature and component-level design
Brainstorming with Architects and other developers for design of new features
Review of others' designs
Participation in code reviews
Implementation of significant functionality
Relentless pursuit of good code hygiene and quality code
Execution on an architectural roadmap
Desired Profile
Strong C++ and Object-oriented Analysis & Design
C++ Memory management, templates and exception handling
STL and Multithreading (thread synchronization, IPC)
Socket programming
At least working knowledge Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
Strong leadership skills and experience
Proven ability to deliver quality code on schedule
Java experience a plus
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good to have skills
Experience with SQL, preferably on SQL Server is a plus.
Experience with XML/XSL a plus
Java experience a plus
Knowledge of client side databases SQL Lite or Firebird
